I went to my physician and was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrist. By removing the mouse from my computer desk top and placing it on my Mouse Stand, I noticed the pain diminishing over time. This can work with either a wired or wireless mouse. People are now learning that setting your computer system up without arranging the components for maximum physical comfort can lead to health problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome or back and neck pain. It has been determined in recent years that pressure increases within the carpal tunnel are noted with both wrist flexion and extension, and are of a magnitude known to be capable of producing peripheral nerve ischemic injury syndromes. Loading of the flexor tendons of the fingers further increases the measured intra-canal pressures. Electrophysiologic and setisory threshold testing confirms the neuropathology effects on the median nerve of the elevated pressures which result from flexion and extension of the wrist.

About the inventor
Shelly Fountain lives in Pensacola, Florida. He was inspired to come up with this idea because of pain in his shoulder, elbow and wrist. He has been working on this idea for about two weeks and does not have a patent. He is not sure if this is an improvement on a present invention but he doesn’t think so. He has never invented anything before.
